Why to visit Krasnoyarsk?
Located on the banks of Yenisey river, Krasnoyarsk is the capital of the wast Krasnoyarsk region. It’s the second biggest city in Siberia as well as powerful industrial centre.
1. Stolby National park
Unique sceneries, mountain landscapes and ancient Siberian forests.. National park Stolby is the only Russian natural park built on the initiative of citizens and their desire to preserve the environment. The park is totally for free, it’s 10 km from the city, easily reachable by several buses. 5 different walking trails (starting from 4 to 16 km in length) offer amazing hike – choose the path and enjoy the views of the cliffs! Almost each of them has its own name!
2. Yenisey river walk
Yenisey is one of the longest rivers in the world and runs through Krasnoyarsk, dividing the city in half. The banks of the Yenisey river are beautiful and clean – perfect for a pieceful walk. There are many interesting things to find – different sculptures, rainbow stairs and even a bookshelf, where to exchange your old book for someone else’s book.
3. The main street and monuments
Walk along the Mira street and you will find many interesting monuments! And not only those – this street is full of green parks, good restaurants and cozy bars!
4. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel
You will find this chapel also on the 10 rubles banknote! It was designed by Konstantin Thon, the architect behind Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
The views from the Karaulnaya hill, where the chapel is located, are just spectacular!
5. Amusement park
