Why to visit Moscow?

Moscow is a political, economic, cultural and scientific centre of Russia. It’s the most heavily populated city and the capital of the biggest country in the World. Can you imagine, how many things to do you can find here?

Of course, it’s not possible to explore each and every corner of this megapolis, but there are places you just shouldn’t miss!

1. The Red Square. And everything around

The Red Square is the central square of the city and actually got its name from Russian word “krasna” which means “beautiful”. It was also white at the beginning. And this square includes many important buildings, e.g. Lenin’s Mausoleum. In Lenin`s Mausoleum you can see embalmed  Soviet Union founder’s body that is re-embalmed every 18 month. Right there is also Saint Basil’s Cathedral – probably the most well known face of Russia. Let’s not forget the biggest active fortress in Europe – Moscow’s Kremlin, that also offers many attractions once you are there.

2. Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and other cathedrals

Visit Moscow’s cathedrals! They will definitely amaze you with their magnificence!

3. Zaryadye park

The park near the city’s main square offers many ways to relax. Concerts, dancing, busy bars and quiet corners with music on the background. Platform on the river and illuminated monuments. It’s just beautiful!

4. Izmailovo Kremlin and marketplace

Not only Moscow’s Kremlin, but also Izmailovo Kremlin is “a must”. Though this wooden complex is a new one, finished only in 2007, its fairytale arhitechture and large marketplace will surprise you. Great museums, beautiful photo corners, colourful artisan crafts, interesting flea market and yummy Russian meals.

5. Moscow City

In Moscow City complex that is still being built you can grasp another feeling of this huge metropolitan! Tall glass buildings will bring you on the top of the city!

6. Arbat

This is a pedestrian street, where you will find traditional souvenire stores, cartoonists, many street performers and shows. Also bars and restaurants that offer traditional Russian cuisine.

7. Chistye Prudy

There are several regions in Moscow that will stay in your memory for long and this is one of them. Cathedrals and churches are surrounded by places of night life lovers. Historical buildings and good restaurants.

8. VDNH

Another district is VDNH. Here you will find miniature Moscow and huge aquarium. Space museum and illuminated sculptures. There are places for active sport lovers and those who just want to swing in bungalow and listen to the near-by concert.

9. Novodevichy Cemetery

Yes, also cemetary is one interesting place. Here you will find impressive monuments for Boris Yeltsin, Mikhail Bulgakov, Aleksey Tolstoy and other great Russian personalities.

10. Metro stations

And last but not least – Moscow’s metro stations. Those are like art galleries! And each and every one of them is different! Colourful mosaics and stunning artworks.
